Our Mission
Fragile Kids is dedicated to providing comprehensive support, resources, and advocacy for families raising children with special needs. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and every parent deserves a community that understands, supports, and empowers them on their journey.
Through education, connection, and compassionate care, we strive to create a world where children with special needs are celebrated for their unique abilities and families feel equipped, supported, and never alone.
Our Story
A Journey of Love
Fragile Kids was founded in 2012 by Sarah Mitchell, a mother of two children with complex medical needs. After years of navigating the healthcare system, searching for resources, and feeling isolated in her journey, Sarah realized countless other families were facing the same challenges.
What began as an informal support group in Sarah’s living room has grown into a comprehensive organization serving thousands of families, offering everything from parent education to respite care, therapy programs to advocacy initiatives.

Everyone belongs here. We embrace diversity in diagnoses, backgrounds, and experiences, creating a judgment-free zone.
Lifelong Support
From diagnosis through adulthood, we’re here for the long journey, adapting our support as families’ needs evolve.
Families We’ve Helped
Fragile Kids saved our family. When our daughter was diagnosed, we felt lost and alone. The support, resources, and community we found here gave us hope and practical help we desperately needed.
โ Jennifer & Tom, Parents of Emma
The parent mentors understood what we were going through because they’d been there. That connection was priceless. We finally found people who ‘got it’ without us having to explain everything.
โ Marcus, Single Father
My son has thrived with the therapy programs here. But more than that, our whole family has grown stronger through the support groups and workshops. We’re better advocates and better parents.
โ Lisa M., Mother of Jacob
